About the Artist
Barb's eye for detail is almost effortlessly transferred to canvas and paper. Her graphite drawings and vibrant acrylic paintings shine with the natural light an beauty of the world, as seen through her eyes. Barb has been drawing since toddlerhood, and painting since high school, with her learning being self-curated since then. Barb's work is an expression of her spirituality, and passion and respect for nature. In her words, "Above all, I'm an intuitive artist. It's in the way I see things, before I even touch paper or canvas. It's in the way I articulate and even hear things. It's in my soul."
Barb is a resident of Selkirk, Manitoba. She is one of few artists doing live caricatures at outdoor markets; most recently at RRNT's Garden and Art Tour and in August at the Beauhead Arts Fest. She is a member of the Selkirk Community Arts Centre and displays and sells her artwork through Gwen Fox Gallery, Gordon Howard Senior Centre, and Selkirk’s Care Plus Clinic. Barb does commission work and is teaching drawing and painting at Gordon Howard Senior Centre. Barb has work in private collections across Canada.
